Whereas the Council of Municipality of South Bruce currently elects The Deputy Mayor in accordance with section A4.3 of the Municipal's Procedural By-law; And whereas the election of the Deputy Mayor is held twice in a council term -the first being at the inaugural meeting and the second election being held at the last meeting in December of the second year of the four-year term, to assume the role in January of year three. And Whereas the council desires to review the process for the election of the Deputy Mayor within South Bruce. Now therefore it resolved That the Municipality of South Bruce Council instructs the Clerk to prepare a report outlining various options for the election of the Deputy Mayor including options for the Deputy Mayor to serve for the full term of council and report back to council.
