WHEREAS the Municipality of South Bruce Council commissioned a report for the improvements on the Filsinger Drain under section 78 of the Drainage Act ; AND WHEREAS the Municipality of South Bruce, through Dietrich Engineering, prepared a tender for the Filsinger Drain work; AND WHEREAS Dietrich Engineering recommended that Council award the contract to the lowest bidder in the amount of $439,862.94 plus taxes; AND WHEREAS the lowest bid exceeded 133% of the Engineer's estimate of $317,350.00 plus HST; AND WHEREAS in accordance with section 59(1) of the Drainage Act, a Public Meeting to consider construction tender costs was held April 25, 2023; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council AWARDS the contract to TAZ Excavating for the tendered price of $439,862.94 plus HST.
