THAT the Minutes of the regular Council meeting of July 26, 2022 be adopted as circulated.

THAT the Municipality of South Bruce Council receives the delegation from Protect Our Waterways - No Nuclear Waste for information; AND FURTHER THAT Council instructs staff to bring a report relating to the presentation.

THAT the Municipality of South Bruce Council receives the report titled "Chief Building Official's Activity Report", report number CBO-01-08-2022, for information.

THAT the Municipality of South Bruce Council approves the total funding for the Digital and Simulation Fire Education and Training System from the Community Well-Being Fund; AND FURTHER THAT Council authorizes the Treasurer to amend the budget accordingly.

THAT the Municipality of South Bruce Council awards the Design and Build contract for the Mildmay Carrick Recreation Centre Hall Renovation to DOMM Construction Limited in the amount of $605,212.00 contingent on Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) Near Term Investment funding approval; AND FURTHER THAT Council instructs CAO/Clerk Martin to submit a project business case to the NWMO for near term investment project consideration; AND FURTHER THAT upon approval for Near Term funding the 2022 budget be amended to include $100,000.00 for project start up costs to be funded by the NWMO near term investment funding.

THAT the Municipality of South Bruce Council receives the report titled "2022 Budget Amendment", report number FIN-01-08-2022, for information.

THAT the Municipality of South Bruce Council receives the report titled Administrative Activity, report number CAO/Clerk-01-08-2022 for information.

THAT the Municipality of South Bruce Council instructs staff to bring back a further report after seeking legal advice regarding the Line Fences Act; AND FURTHER THAT staff prepare a By-law as necessary.

THAT the Municipality of South Bruce Council approves the Accounts listing dated August 9, 2022 in the amount of $482,039.82.

THAT the minutes of the following committees and/or boards be received as presented to Council:  Maitland Valley Conservation Authority -May 18, 2022 and June 15, 2022  Teeswater Medical Centre Development Steering Committee - June 27, 2022

WHEREAS years of research confirms the benefits of high-quality child care for young children’s intellectual, emotional, social and physical development and later life outcomes; and WHEREAS child care promotes the well-being of children and responds to the needs of parents and the broader community by supporting quality of life so that citizens can fully participate in and contribute to the economic and social life of their community; and WHEREAS trained and knowledgeable Early Childhood Educators and child care staff are the key to quality in early learning and child care programs; and WHEREAS Registered Early Childhood Educators and child care workers will be vital to the success of the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care system. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT October 18, 2022 be designated the 22nd annual “Child Care Worker & Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Day” in recognition of the education, dedication and commitment of child care workers to children, their families and quality of life of the community.

THAT the following By-Laws be Read, a FIRST, SECOND and THIRD TIME and FINALLY PASSED and numbered as follows: 2022-84 Being a By-law to amend By-Law #2022-22 being the Municipality of South Bruce 2022 Budget and Levy By-Law

THAT the Municipality of South Bruce Council proceeds into a Closed Meeting at 7:45 p.m. to discuss: 12.1 Personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees and Labour relations or employee negotiations; (Staffing)

THAT Council returns to "Open Session" at 8:06 p.m.

THAT we do now adjourn at 8:05 p.m., to meet again August 23, 2022 at 6:00 p.m., or, at the call of the Mayor.
